COLEMAN: I FEAR THE AXE

Derby v Sunderland 7.45pm

- BY SIMON BIRD

CHRIS COLEMAN admits he fears the sack at Sunderland.

The Wearsiders are bottom of the table and the ex-Wales boss reckons it is a make-or-break weekend for their survival hopes.

“I do worry about it,” he said. “But when you’re a manager, you know, if there’s a run of bad results, that’s it. You know the pressures when you walk through the door, so I’m not complaining.

“We haven’t won in 10 games and we’re rock-bottom.

“Ellis Short (the owner) is not interested any more, he wants to move on, so we need someone to come and buy it, grab it by the scruff of the neck and say this is the direction we’re going in.”
