Casualty star says ‘it was emotional’

There’s trouble in Walford tonight when Annie turns up for the £5k Big Mo owes her family – with a heavy in tow. But rather than having a go at Mo, who deserves it (probably), it’s poor Stacey who bears the brunt when she gets a slap in the face – and Kat

CASUALTY actress Amanda Henderson “cried her eyes out” when she was rehearsing for this weekend’s emotional episode.

Last week viewers were shocked as newlyweds Robyn Miller and Glen Thomas ended their big day in disaster as Glen had a seizure and the pair were involved in a massive car crash.

They never even made it to their honeymoon and are now on their way back to Holby City hospital.

Fans fear Robyn could die after the accident while they know Glen now has Glioblastoma – cancerous brain tumours that will kill him soon. Amanda, who plays Robyn, said: “As soon as I got the sets of scripts I cried my eyes out. When you get a script like that it makes my job a lot easier. “Robyn and Glen are not in a very pleasant state. It is heartbreaking so viewers should bring their tissues on Saturday.” Having seen the episode we can confirm it is a must-see for fans of the drama. Asked about the impending death of Glen, played by Owain Arthur, she added: “It will be super tough, no one wants to watch anyone die, especially someone they love and haven’t had enough time with.

“But they are a great couple for making the best of what they have got. I’d like to think I take a little bit of that for myself from these episodes.”

Amanda paid tribute to fellow cast member Amanda Mealing who directs tomorrow night’s episode.

She added: “She gets things as an actor and if she asks me to do something I trust her completely.”

Casualty, BBC1 Saturday 8.20pm.
