Women lose £223k in pay
WOMEN earn £223,000 less than men over their lifetime, a study has found.
Females aged 22-29 earn on average £1,550 less a year than males, rising to £7,600 a year in their 50s.
The Young Women’s Trust studied official data before April 4’s gender pay gap reporting deadline.
Chief executive Dr Carole Easton OBE said: “Discrimination and unequal caring arrangements prevent [women] progressing at work and reaching higher salaries.”
