PROPPER STAR FOR SEAGULLS

BRIGHTON chief Chris Hughton praised Davy Propper after Holland boss Ronald Koeman hailed the midfielder’s display in the 3-0 win over Portugal.

The £10million summer signing from PSV Eindhoven has been ever-present in the Premier League for the Seagulls, but the 26-year-old has mostly flown under the radar until recently.

“If we had started really well, above people’s expectations and been in a good position in the league, possibly the spotlight would have been more on him,” said Hughton.

“But we quite like that. His performances have improved over the season.

“I think that is down to getting used to the Premier League and playing regularly and the way that we want to play.”
