Work 33 days to close gap
WORKERS on the minimum wage would have to graft 33 extra days to earn the real Living Wage.
That would close the £1,794-a-year gap between the two rates, the Living Wage Foundation found.
The Government scale rises to £7.83 tomorrow but the voluntary rate is £8.75 – £10.20 in London.
The TUC said the higher rate “would make a huge difference” to the low-paid.
