Referee Craig Pawson penalised Bruno Martins Indi for a foul on Mesut Ozil when he actually won the ball and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored from the spot.

That triggered an onslaught from out-of-touch Arsenal which earned Arsene Wenger’s men all three points.

Stoke boss Lambert (above) said: “I respect referees but in big moments in big games they have to be 100 per cent sure.

“The decision was a gamechanger because we were still in the match at that stage. It was pretty soft.”

Stoke remain second from bottom with six games to go but Lambert added: “I’m 100 per cent confident of staying up.

“I thought that when I came in and nothing has happened to

change my mind.”

FROM BACK PAGE Wenger, looking ahead to Thursday’s Europa League clash with CSKA Moscow, said: “The fans will be back on Thursday, don’t worry.

“It is Easter, a family happening, and in people’s minds we haven’t a lot to go for in the Premier League.”

The home fans, who booed the Gunners off at the break, were restless again yesterday until Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s late brace and Alexandre Lacazette’s penalty earned Arsenal victory.

French international Lacazette – back after almost two months out with a knee problem – came off the bench just after the hour to help change the game.

And he scored late on after Aubameyang let him take Arsenal’s second penalty of the game rather than complete what would have been his first Gunners hat-trick.

Manager Wenger said: “That shows the state of our society... when people are generous we are surprised.” PORTO are ready to start a three-way Premier League auction by selling Moussa Marega this summer.

Everton, West Ham and Swansea have all looked at the France-born striker, who represents Mali at international level.

Marega (above), 26, also holds a French passport and his representatives have told Porto of the interest from the Premier League, but he has a £35million buy-out clause.

ARSENE WENGER admitted Arsenal’s poor league form has made fans vote with their feet. The Gunners saw off Stoke thanks to three goals in the last 15 minutes but once again there were thousands of empty seats at the Emirates. While the attendance was announced as 59,371, it was closer to 40,000. But
