Air we go for electric flight
JERSEY could become the first place in the world to be fully served by commercial planes powered solely by electricity.
Airline easyJet hopes to have the technology, designed to cut emissions, ready within 10 years.
Its UK manager Ali Gayward said: “In that timescale it might be working within shorter sectors, around 200 miles. Jersey [is in] that category.”
EasyJet is working on the project alongside US firm Wright Electrical.
