HAMSTRUNG MESSI HITS SUPER GOAL

- BY IAN BAKER

BARCELONA insist Lionel Messi will be fit for their Champions League clash with Roma on Wednesday. The Argentine superstar (below) was only on the bench at Sevilla with a hamstring problem. But he hit a late wonder goal to rescue Barca’s unbeaten La Liga record after Luis Suarez had scored a minute earlier as they fought back from 2-0 down. Boss Ernesto Valverde said: “Leo’s a decisive player every time he touches the ball. I’d planned to play him in the second half in any case. “He has discomfort, but hadn’t played for two weeks and it was necessary to play him so he could find his rhythm. We think he’ll be available on Wednesday, although we’ll see the effort he’s made on Saturday.”
