Scorer Remi in over her head

MANCHESTER CITY suffered a blow to their Women’s Super League title hopes as an acrobatic strike from Remi Allen helped Reading to a surprise 2-0 away win.

Second-placed City, managed by Nick Cushing (above), missed the chance to move level on points with leaders Chelsea, who drew 1-1 at Arsenal earlier yesterday.

Allen (above) broke the deadlock in the 34th minute with an overhead kick and Kirsty Pearce headed a second on the hour for Reading, who had Jo Potter sent off late on.

Liverpool were 4-0 winners at bottom side Yeovil.
