Coal medals for all of ’em
BRAVE runners pitted their strength against snow and ice in the 55th World Coal Carrying Championships.
Around 50 competitors raced up a freezing hill yesterday with sacks of coal on their shoulders.
Men carried 50kg loads and women 20kg at the event in Ossett, West Yorks, held every year since 1963.
The children’s race was cancelled due to the treacherous conditions.
