BRIAN McDERMOTT praised the younger members of his squad as the Rhinos dug deep.

Leeds remain without several forwards but Ash Handley took his try tally to seven in four games while Josh Walters capped a fine performance with a late score.

“It’s been a real positive,” said McDermott. “It was a really challenging game on Friday against Huddersfield and people like Cam Smith and Mikolaj Oledzki show you what they can do.

“You can throw a Josh Walters in there too, he was outstanding today.”
