Fern’s recipe for happy life with chef Phil
FERN Britton says the secret to the success of her 18-year marriage to telly chef Phil Vickery is giving each other space.
Phil, 67, still works on This Morning while Fern, 60, has done some TV work and written several novels since leaving the ITV show in 2009.
Fern said: “We have let each other have our freedom. He’s a man who has always got to meet a man about a dog.
“He says, ‘I will be half an hour’. That might be a couple of days. We don’t crowd each other and we are happy with that.”
Fern also commented on the equal pay row, telling LBC radio that men having more pay was “pure willy waving” to women in the TV industry.
