Tanesha killing: stray bullet hit house wall

- BY RUSSELL MYERS, BEN GLAZE and AMY-CLARE MARTIN

A BULLET shot from the gun believed to have killed 17-year-old Tanesha Melbourne has been retrieved by forensics officers.

The stray shot, found embedded in the outside wall of a house, was one of at least two fired at Tanesha, who was killed near her home in Tottenham, North East London on Monday.

Detectives believe youth worker Tanesha may have been the victim of a “tit-for-tat” gang war being fought by rival drug dealers.

Investigators are believed to be probing whether her murder was in revenge for an attack on a teenage boy VICTIM Tanesha Melbourne at a diner on Easter Sunday that was recorded and shared on Snapchat.

Tanesha’s family say she was an innocent victim caught in the crossfire as the gunman blasted bullets into her group of friends as they stood in the street. Tanesha died in her mother’s arms 30 minutes before 16-year-old Amaan Shakoor was shot in the face outside a leisure centre three miles away in Walthamstow, east London, in an unconnected attack. He died on Tuesday night, becoming the youngest murder victim in the capital this year. Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn hit out at cuts to police budgets after the latest deaths. Mr Corbyn said: “We need to make sure there’s much better police and community support arrangements and no longer cuts in London’s policing.” In a third attack at the weekend, an unidentified man, 20, was fatally stabbed in Wandsworth. Billy Botton, 24, of Wandsworth, was remanded in custody when he appeared in court yesterday charged with murder.
