355 get £2m ‘golden visas’

RICH foreigners were handed 355 “golden visas” last year, figures show.

Chinese people got 116 of the “investor visas” that allow those ploughing at least £2million into the UK to stay here for three years.

Russians were the next largest group, according to figures compiled by wealth experts LJ Partnership.

Those buying £5million of government bonds, shares and assets can apply to stay permanently after three years – or two if they invest £10million.
