Unwed and still on iCloud nine

I love that Kylie Minogue has said marriage is “not for her”. I’m so tired of every film having the female characters get married as though that’s a guaranteed happy ending.

My marriage lasted, the good bit, about two years. After that I just resented him taking up space in the house and preventing me dating other people.

Long term, legally locked-in monogamy isn’t the only relationship model and it certainly isn’t right for everyone either.

Recently I’ve started casually dating a computer engineer. I call him TSWB – tech support with benefits.

Maybe we need a fancy ceremony where I hand over my iCloud password and he promises not to go through all my embarrassing old photos. But if it works for me, there’s nothing wrong with that.

Plus, my laptop has never worked so smoothly.
