Fury as jets fly in at 1am

RESIDENTS near an airport were angry to be woken at 1am after two RAF jets had to make an emergency landing.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport is usually restricted to daytime flying but the Typhoons needed to refuel urgently after bad weather.

Angry Gina Seiga tweeted: “Thanks for waking me up, tell them to be more quiet next time”.

Liverpool Airport said in a tweet: “RAF jets diverted in for urgent fuelling, they have just departed again.”
