FAIRYTALE TIME

-

IAN POULTER wants to ride the momentum from his “fairytale” win at the Houston Open all the way to the Masters title.

The Ryder Cup legend (left) earned the final spot for Augusta with his play-off victory against American Beau Hossler – his first strokeplay title on American soil.

“I have never pitched up to the Masters on a Tuesday afternoon, I would never have done as little preparation as I’m about to do for this event,” he said.

“But I now hope to ride the momentum from my fairytale victory at the weekend.

‘‘It has been a bit of a rollercoaster and there is always a little downer at some stage, so I hope it comes at 7pm on Sunday night just after I slip a jacket on.”
