PEP GUARDIOLA admitted he made a mistake after Manchester City’s Champions League meltdown.
Guardiola confessed to his staff that he picked the wrong team at Liverpool – and promised not to make the same mistake in the return leg.
The City manager selected Ilkay Gundogan ahead of 21-goal Raheem Sterling to try to give his side more control in midfield but the formation did not work. And Guardiola suggested afterwards: “Do I think it worked? We lost 3-0.”
It leaves City needing a miracle in Tuesday’s second leg.
