THE FALTERING BUSINESSES
KATIE demonstrated a canny sense for business, with lucrative ranges of perfumes and best-selling books raking in a fortune.
An exclusive magazine deal to cover her wedding to Peter Andre commanded a £1.75million fee and her reality TV appearances earned her six figures.
But recent endeavours have not been quite as successful. Her lounge wear clothing company KP Boutique failed to get off the ground after its 2016 launch, reportedly having just £13 in its accounts last month.
That followed her jewellery company KP Bling being struck off, while she put another business, Jordan Trading Limited, into liquidation in May 2017. Last year, her company KDC trading reportedly had only £9,000 in its coffers.
A recent attempt to relaunch a pop career was short lived when her comeback single I Got U failed to chart.
A source close to Katie says she has been “running down her businesses for some considerable time in an organised way, on the advice of tax advisers” Horse-enthusiast Katie’s line KP Equestrian is still one of her best business successes and she has announced plans for a new homeware range. Just last week, Katie cancelled all the remaining dates of her live tour after reports of poor ticket sales. However she said it was due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
