HER SICK MUM

ADDING to Katie’s ongoing trauma has been the devastating diagnosis of her mum’s terminal lung disease. Amy was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis last year. Speaking this week, Katie said: “She could get a cold next month and she could go downhill really quickly and die. “You look at her and you wouldn’t have a clue.” Katie is set to run the London Marathon later this month to support the British Lung Foundation. Amy recently revealed that she declined her daughter’s offer to donate one of her own lungs, telling Katie: “You’ve got to think if, by any chance, it went wrong, who’s going to look after your kids? You’ve got to think about your children, not me, and what’s going to happen to them.” Katie added this week: “You’ve got to think about each day. I could go before her. “My motto is Live each day like it is your last.”
