Digital and disc Monday Episode VIII of the long-running sci-fi series is a supernova of shocks, action, comedy and big-budget special effects, which explodes with laser-powered popcorn entertainment.

Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac return to battle Adam Driver’s evil Kylo Ren and the First Order dictatorship.

Meanwhile, the late Carrie Fisher makes a final appearance as General Leia and Mark Hamill has fun as Jedi master Luke Skywalker.

This took £934million at the box office and though it lags the £1.455million of 2015’s The Force Awakens, the force is strong in this one.
