COMEDIAN Jason Manford intervened to try to stop a football brawl.

He witnessed a “20-man” fight between Manchester United and City fans after the derby game, at around 9pm at Stockport station.

Jason, 36, posted: “Found myself trying to stop it like a f***ing idiot and witnessed a boy of about 13 push a bloke in his 60s over, he banged his head so hard... it knocked me sick.”

The Salford-born City fan dialled 999 and gave a police statement. He later wrote: “Can’t stop hearing thud of that guy’s head... and the little girl crying for her dad to stop fighting.”

One man was kept in hospital overnight.

The Red Devils came back from 2-0 down to win the heated derby 3-2.
