DAVID FERRER beat Philipp Kohlschreiber in a five-hour marathon as Spain roared back from 2-1 down against Germany to reach the Davis Cup semi-finals.

Rafael Nadal beat Alexander Zverev 6-1 6-4 6-4 and then Ferrer (left) edged past Kohlschreiber 7-6 3-6 7-6 4-6 7-5 in the final rubber in a sun-drenched Valencia.
