Our picture shows soldiers from the Canadian Corps advancing through the mud and barbed wire of No Man’s Land to take Vimy Ridge on Easter Monday, 1917. The First World War battle is one of Canada’s most celebrated military victories, but it came at a high cost with 3,598 Canadians killed and a further 7,004 injured.
