BOWEN SCARE JARS TIGERS

-

FOUR goals in 27 minutes lifted Hull seven points clear of the drop zone – but they may have to play the final five games of the season without top scorer Jarrod Bowen.

The winger will have an X-ray to identify the extent of a foot injury. Bowen (left), who has scored 14 times in 40 appearances, also hurt his back in the drubbing of QPR.

“Jarrod landed heavily on his back in the first half and it was pretty sore,” said Tigers boss Nigel Adkins. “He had a couple of knocks on his foot as well.

“He’ll probably have X-rays on his foot and it’s a concern.”

QPR boss Ian Holloway was fuming over a foul by his own midfielder Josh Scowen which saw skipper Nedum Onuoha sent off in the resulting melee.

“It’s an absolutely scandalous tackle in my opinion,” Holloway said. “I’m going to hammer him.

“He’s the one who should have been sent off. Nedum ran over to try to protect him.”
