Footie’s Bale helps teen fix ‘wonky back’
FOOTBALLER Gareth Bale has helped a schoolgirl fly to Germany for a £42,000 operation to fix her “wonky spine”.
Keen gymnast and runner Erin Morgan-Ring, 14, discovered she had scoliosis when her mum spotted on holiday that she was not standing straight.
She had an X-ray and Erin, of Cardiff, said: “To mum’s horror it showed a huge curve in my spine – 65 degrees to be exact. Mum was nearly sick.”
The family raised money for the Vertical Body Tethering after being told the fusion surgery on the NHS could limit her mobility.
She now hopes she can remain sporty.
Welsh international Bale and British and Irish Lions rugby captain Sam Warburton both donated.
