£20k for info on killing in Trafalgar Sq
POLICE issued a £20,000 reward to help catch two “cowards” who fatally beat a man in Trafalgar Square.
Desmond O’Beirne, 51, was punched from behind by one attacker and kicked by the second assailant while on a night out.
He suffered major brain injuries and was in a vegetative state until he died six months later.
The assault on Mr O’Beirne, from Westminster, on June 3 last year in Central London was captured on CCTV.
His sister Vivienne Folan said: “Desmond was viciously attacked by two cowards who walked away and left him for dead.”
Det Chief Insp Noel McHugh of the Met Police said: “Someone might see this video and remember they witnessed this.”
