I’d Mis the songs

-

Sir Cameron Mackintosh has said he won’t watch the BBC adaptation of Les Miserables because he will miss the songs too much.

The 71-year-old theatre producer is responsible for turning the Victor Hugo novel into a West End phenomenon but he is less impressed by the idea of an Andrew Davies TV version, starring Dominic West, Olivia Coleman and Lily Collins.

“Ugh I’m not sure (I’ll watch)”, he revealed: “I’d miss the tunes and I suspect the audience will as well.
