Our hero Max teaches his pals about saving lives
MIRROR boy Max Johnson has been teaching his classmates about organ donation – and the new law in his name.
Teachers said they could “hear a pin drop” as he recounted the story of his heart transplant in front of his entire school.
Max, 10, has been encouraged to talk openly about his live-saving op.
He continues to raise awareness of our Change the Law for Life campaign, making an organ donation poster to explain what it means. He also made an organ donation “chart” to help schoolmates at St Oswald’s Worleston School in Cheshire, understand the new law.
Mum Emma, 47, of Winsford, Cheshire, said: “He gave a talk in school for 100 pupils – and his teachers said you could hear a pin drop.
“It was emotional for them as they know how poorly he was. But Max loves to make the little ones laugh and he tells them about the mechanical heart pump that kept him alive.”
Max’s chart has the message “Give Someone the Gift of Life”.
