Pair announce loss of one twin
OLYMPIC rower Helen Glover and husband Steve Backshall have tragically lost of one of the twins they were expecting.
They had revealed they were to become parents on social media in March, saying it was the “biggest adventure of our lives”.
But the couple yesterday posted identical messages on Twitter saying: “Thanks for all your lovely messages. We’ve had the hard news one baby hasn’t made it, but we are very excited and hopeful for the remaining baby to arrive this summer.” Naturalist and TV presenter Steve, 44, and Helen, 31, met working on Sport Relief in 2014.
As part of Team GB, Helen is a double Olympic champion and record holder in the coxless pairs.
