FLOUR POWER WITH LOVE
The firm behind TV hit The Great British Bake Off made plenty of dough itself last year, as profits more than doubled.
Love Productions raked in £5.1million in the 12 months to July, up from £2.2m, with turnover jumping by a quarter to £20m. The leap came after Channel 4 announced in September 2016 it was poaching Bake Off from the BBC in a £75m deal. Last year proved a showstopper for Love Productions’ shareholders too as it paid out £3m in dividends, up from £1.8m the previous year.
Two bosses each pocketed more than £400,000 while Sky, which owns 70% of the company, bagged £2.1m, according to accounts filed at Companies House.
