Patches ‘give diabetes test’

-

A NON-invasive patch could remove the need for millions of diabetics to have finger-prick tests.

Glucose can be drawn off from fluid between cells across hair follicles, allowing readings to be taken every 10 to 15 minutes, scientists say.

University of Bath’s Prof Richard Guy, said: “A needleless way to monitor blood sugar has proven a difficult goal to attain.”

Researchers say the patches increase the accuracy of the measurements.
