Pilot blamed for MH17 died day after call
A PILOT accused of shooting down Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 was found dead after a mystery phone call, his wife says.
Captain Vladislav Voloshin, 29, “dramatically changed” to “depressed” after taking the call last month, Nadezhda claimed.
She said the Ukrainian warplane pilot was “upset” still the next day, March 18, when he died of a gunshot.
Ukrainian authorities have not ruled out murder or suicide and are trying to trace the call.
Russia alleged Mr Voloshin shot MH17 in 2014 but an official probe found a Russian-made missile fired from rebel-controlled territory was responsible.
Mr Voloshin’s dad Valery blamed the stress of a new job for his death, adding: “The reason was the war, and everyday problems.”
