IPSWICH TOWN’S ambition of qualifying for the Champions League appeared to move a step closer after holding Liverpool to a 1-1 draw.

Alas, the Tractor Boys’ challenge faded as they ultimately fell from third place to fifth in the Premier League.

It was a successful season, though, as they still qualified for the UEFA Cup for the first time since 1982.
