ELNENY’S RED QUASHED

MOHAMED ELNENY has had his red card overturned by the FA.

Arsenal launched an appeal against his sending-off (left) against Southampton on Sunday using TV footage from different angles which they insist cleared him of violent conduct. Referee Andre Marriner had sent off Jack Stephens after a bust-up with Jack Wilshere and Elneny then became embroiled in a bust-up with Cedric Soares.

Midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been ruled out for the rest of the season because of knee ligament damage – unless they reach the Europa League final.
