KNUDSEN USES HIS HEAD

JONAS KNUDSEN netted his first goal of the season for Ipswich, as manager Mick McCarthy quit the club with immediate effect.

Knudsen broke the deadlock in the 54th minute, after struggling Barnsley had begun strongly.

The Tykes had a goal disallowed before the break when ‘scorer’ Lloyd Isgrove was flagged offside.

And Knudsen (left) made them pay by heading home from Mustapha Carayol’s corner.

McCarthy had planned to leave Town at the end of the season, but the club announced his departure on Twitter after the game.
