Heatwaves in oceans on up

OCEAN heatwaves are on the rise - threatening the fishing industry and sea life, a study warns.

The events have become 34% more common since 1925, Dalhousie University in Canada reports.

Researcher Dr Eric Oliver said: “They have economic consequences.”
