Pair in ‘punishment’ shooting

POLICE are probing a double shooting believed to be a “punishment” hit.

A man and woman were both shot in the legs and a car set ablaze in the attack at Huyton, Merseyside.

The 20-year-old victims were taken to hospital for treatment but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. A police spokesman said: “We are investigating following reports of a firearms discharge in Huyton.

“A 20-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman had both received gunshot wounds to the legs.”
