£4k ‘first job loyal bonus’

-

WORKERS who spend two to three years in their first job earn a “premium” over their career, a study shows.

They will receive £4,000 a year more than those who leave, analysis of 50,000 CVs found.

Andrew Hunter, of jobs website Adzuna, said: “Yo-yoing through a career by changing jobs often can be viewed negatively, and could harm pay prospects in the long-run. Showing loyalty pays dividends.”

Workers in the North tend to stay in first jobs longer than in the South.
