Stone tribute to footie hero
THE only footballer to captain both Everton and Liverpool has finally been given a marked headstone, 78 years after his death.
The tribute to Andrew Hannah, who died in 1940, aged 75, was organised by Everton Heritage Society and Everton FC.
The Scot was buried in an unmarked grave at Kilbowie Cemetery, Clydebank. After a ceremony to celebrate his life, his granddaughter May McKenzie, 86, said: “They made a great job of the stone.”
