Performance is razor sharp, the screen is gorgeous and Apple’s ecosystem means it’ll stay functional after several years.

It would have been nice to see a Smart Keyboard connector or a slight bump in RAM, but ultimately those things are inconsequential.

Buying it isn’t crucial if you’ve got an iPad that’s less than two years old. However, if you want to upgrade (or pick up your first one) this is where you should start looking.
