‘Transgender activist beat up feminist’
A TRANSGENDER activist battered a radical feminist during a women’s rights row, a court heard.
Tara Wolf, 26, allegedly attacked Maria MacLachlan, 60, at London’s Hyde Park last September.
Miss MacLachlan was at a rally for a movement that says transgender women should not have the same rights as biological females. A tussle began when she started to film a counter-protest.
Prosecutor Carly Loftus said: “The defendant runs up to Miss MacLachlan and strikes her several times. Other people joined in the melee and Miss MacLachlan felt kicking.”
Wolf denies assault by beating. The trial at Hendon magistrates court, North London, continues.
