Curfew crook let outside to smoke
A ROBBER had his curfew amended at a special crown court hearing – so he can go outside for a smoke.
Electronically-tagged Matthew Salamino, 20, is banned from leaving his mum’s house between 8pm to 7am, but she has objected to him smoking indoors.
Salamino’s barrister Ian Windridge explained the problem at Warwick crown court and Recorder Christopher Tickle agreed to alter the curfew.
Legal experts said the hearing would have cost “easily in the thousands of pounds”. John O’Connell, of the Tax Payers’ Alliance, said money had been wasted to satisfy Salamino’s “personal indulgences”.
Salamino, of Coventry, is serving a two-year suspended sentence for robbing a teen in a park.
