THE RE-SHOOT

-

Ed Westwick originally played Mickey, but was accused of historic allegations of sexual assault in November, which he denies.

The show’s scheduled broadcast at Christmas was cancelled and his scenes were re-shot with Christian Cooke, right.

To save binning the entire production, bosses re-did 35 scenes at a cost of up to £2million.

Over 12 days in January, the cast were recalled, costumes were flown back from Paris and Rome and the Ardgowan estate was redressed with 1950s props. Although the murder mystery is set in summer, the reshoot was done during Scotland’s bleak winter. In one exterior scene, supposedly in summer, Mickey’s icy breath is visible. Alice Eve, playing Gwenda, was not available for re-shoots so Christian was merged into scenes using split-screen technology.
