Tributes to a union ‘giant’

MOVING tributes were made to a “giant of the trade union movement” at a memorial yesterday.

Ex-Unison chief Rodney Bickerstaffe, who died in October, aged 72, was honoured by Labour Party and union members.

At Westminster Central Hall, London, Dave Prentis, of Unison, said: “He gave a voice to the voiceless and power to the powerless.”
