Heavy going at Aintree

-

THE Grand National is set to be run on ‘heavy, soft in places’.

Aintree clerk of the course Andrew Tulloch said yesterday: “The forecast is for it to be dry tonight and dry and a bit brighter tomorrow — there might be a bit of sunshine if we’re lucky.”

RUBY WALSH will learn next week whether he will be fit to ride at the Punchestown Festival.

The 38-year-old has been on the sidelines since suffering a fractured leg in a fall at last month’s Cheltenham Festival.

Punchestown begins on April 24 and Walsh said yesterday: “I’ve still got the boot on and I’ll find out next week.”
