LACEY’S JET FLYS
ALDER HEY H’CAP JESTER JET capped a breakthrough campaign for her trainer Tom Lacey by springing a 20-1 surprise in the opener.
The Robbie Dunneridden eight-year-old (above) beat Eaton Hill to give Lacey his first Aintree victory — and the biggest win of his career.
Herefordshire-based Lacey, who combines training with the rearing and selling of younger horses, said: “We’ve had an incredible season – everything has dropped into place.
“I was a bit nervous when the ground got soft, but if they were all as easy as her, it would be all right!”
