LAUGH AND CRY
DIVER Jack Laugher became England’s most successful athlete at the Games – then hit out at the officiating.
The Olympic champion picked up his third gold medal when he and Chris Mears took the 3-metre synchro crown they had previously won in Rio.
Laugher (above) spoke of his pride at completing a golden hat-trick but was less complimentary about those marking his work, saying: “The judging hasn’t been great.” Team performance of the day went to England’s basketball women who beat Canada to set up a final clash with Australia. A late goal by Australia condemned the men’s hockey team to a 2-1 semi-final defeat.
