SON READY TO SHINE

NEWSBOY’S 1-2-3 1 UNISON 2 MAQUISARD 3 HIGH EXPECTATIONS

-

UNISON has to pull out a personal best, but may be up to the job.

Jeremy Scott’s eightyear-old has made great strides in 2018, beginning with third to The New One in the Champion Hurdle Trial at Haydock.

Back into handicap company at Taunton, Unison returned to winning form with a two-length margin over Friday Night Light.

A 5lb rise wasn’t enough to stop Unison from following up at the Somerset course as Matt Griffiths, who makes way for 5lb claimer Robert Hawker, beat Caid Du Lin by four and a half lengths.

Both wins came over two miles on soft ground and, under identical conditions here, Unison is fancied to overcome a further 6lb rise to rack up the hat-trick.

Last-time-out Huntingdon Maquisard victor and High Expectations

are just two names worth throwing into the melting pot.
