Charlie Wernham

-

Comedian, Series 2, 2008 Charlie first bounded on to our screens 10 years ago with his stand-up routine and reached the semi-finals.

Now 23, Charlie recalls: “It was the scariest thing I’ve done. Everything in my career stems from going on BGT.”

He has since turned to acting, playing bad boys, as well as starring in sitcom The Inbetweeners and alongside Jack Whitehall in Bad Education.

His longest role was in Hollyoaks from 2013 to 2016. Now Charlie, of Billericay, Essex, is tackling serious roles on the big screen. His first independent film, Hooligan Escape, is about five English football fans who clash with Russian hooligans at a tournament. But he says: “Even now I still love comedy.” Hooligan Escape: The Russian Job is out on Digital HD May 7 and DVD May 14.
